Belmopan is pretty big and is made up of a "ring road" - a main road shaped like a ring, inner streets and walkways scattered all over the city. Don't worry though, there is more than one way to get around.
Driving
Belmopan has one main road called "ring road" why? Because it's shaped like a ring! You can get to pretty much any area in the city using the ring road and if you follow it all the way around, you'll end up right where you started.
Biking
Biking is a great way to get around the city and with the renovations around the ring road, bikers now have their own lane so they can peddle to their destination safely.
Taxi
Taxi's are a customary way of getting around if you don't have a vehicle or a bike. You can find a taxi at the bus terminal or call one if you have their number (you can visit our Taxis page for more information).
Busitos
Inspired by the "dolla bus" in Belize City, Belmopan has adopted the Busitos - mini vans that run all around the city and stopping at designated bus stops or if you're lucky, right where you want to go for only a dollar.
